SACA T20 Cricket Carnival Year 6/7
On Thursday 16th October four teams of eight Year 6/7 students participated in a cricket carnival at Encounter Bay. This is the carnival we have participated in over the past few years known as Super 8’s. Teams from schools from across our district competed on the day.
The students had a very enjoyable experience and conducted themselves in such a way to, once again, make Port Elliot Primary School proud – both with attitude and performance.
There were 5 teams in the girls’ competition and our girls won 3 out of their 4 games, finishing first for the day. Congratulations girls!!
There were 12 teams in the boys competition and we had a team finish 9th, another team finish 3rd and a team finish first!! Congratulations to all the boys!!
The two teams who finished first have been invited to compete in a state wide final at Adelaide Oval on Thursday 20th November. If they manage to win that competition day they may get invited to play in the Australian wide final at the Melbourne Cricket ground!
An exceptionally wonderful experience for these students. Once I receive further information about the Adelaide Oval carnival I will send notes home to the students involved.
Thank you to our parent helpers
and to all our supporters on the day. Without this adult assistance the teams would not have been allowed to compete.
