Volunteering in Our School

Volunteering in our school is easy - and a fun way to be a part of your child’s school community!

After attending one of our volunteer inductions - held every term - and completing the necessary checks, you can take part in activities like:

  • listen to children read in the classroom, especially at early years

  • attend excursions or camps, including the yearly Book Week walk through Port Elliot

  • join Parent Network - and help with fundraising events!

To become a volunteer you need to:

  • attend a one hour school volunteer induction - usually run once a term, you only need to attend this once

  • have a Working With Children Check - free online check, valid for 5 years

  • complete a RRHAN Fundamentals course - free online short course via department for education, valid for 3 years

Contact Rachael Norde for more information on volunteering and to be notified about the next volunteer induction: Rachael.Norde224@schools.sa.edu.au

JOIN PARENT NETWORK

Parent Network is a volunteer group of parents, carers and school community members who organise and run fundraising events at PEPS throughout the year.

Money raised benefits all students at our school.

Everyone is welcome to join Parent Network and we are always looking for new people to help with events - whether it's an hour on Friday to sell ice blocks, a morning to help with fun lunch or stepping up to organise a fundraiser, any time you have to help benefits all students.

Parent Network fundraiser events and activities

  • Fun lunch every term and ice blocks on Fridays

  • Colour Run

  • Scholastic Book Fair

  • Mother's and Father's Day stall

  • Quiz Night

  • Crazy Socks Day

  • Engraved pavers & more!

Money raised from Parent Network events goes to:

  • subsidise swimming and aquatics lessons for all students, held in Term One

  • purchase sports equipment for each classroom

  • iPads and library resources

  • buses for travel to and from excursions

  • incursions and excursion costs, like Jam Band, Monarto Zoo and Dream Big Festival

Parent Network meets once every term to talk about and organise fundraisers and fun lunches - we'd love to see you at our next meeting!

To be a part of Parent Network you will need to complete a volunteer induction and necessary checks as outlined at the top of this page.

Contact Rachael Norde for more information and to be added to the Parent Network list: Rachael.Norde224@schools.sa.edu.au

Port Elliot Governing Council

Governing Council Meetings are the opportunity for parents and community members to share opinions which represent the families of the students who attend the school.

Meetings are held two times a term for approximately one and half hours.

The council is always looking for new members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) usually held in February each year.
