Port Elliot Primary School

Welcome to Port Elliot Primary School

Port Elliot Primary School has served the south eastern Fleurieu Peninsula since 1853. We have
a strong community focus - parents and caregivers play an active role within the school, through classroom support, library and sporting programs. In 2007, the school and co-located kindergarten moved to a new site adjacent the Port Elliot Showgrounds. The school enjoys joint use of the showground's oval. Enrolments at the school, which caters from Reception-Year 7, have nearly tripled since 1991, in-line with a general growth of activity in the local area.

The school priorities are: high quality instruction, engagement and success, early years, literacy, numeracy and wellbeing. PE, Arts and Indonesian are specialist subjects offered at Port Elliot Primary,
and the school participates in an Aboriginal Cultural Exchange Program with Murputja Anangu
School. Physical activity and participation for all students is a key priority of the school.  SAPSASA events, interschool surfing and specialist Physical Education lessons are offered.
The school has an active Student Representative Council, with weekly meetings and activities. The school uses restorative practices and has an active buddy program partly supported by the Alannah & Madeline Foundation 'Buddy Bears' program.
